Route 66 part two

After driving the missouri route 66 alignment, it was time to move on to the small amount of miles in Kansas, 13 to be exact. Andy rescued a turtle that was trying to cross the road in this state and there were a few cool brides, one stating back to the 20s. We ate lunch in Cafe that used to be an old bank that was robbed by some famous guy but i can not remember his name grrr. I found a globe in an antiques store but it would of cost too much to ship back.
After Kansas it was time for Oklahoma, ok was warm, so warm we experienced a mini storm where the sky turned black we were sure we were going to end up in a tornado but there were no signs. We camped under a canyon and we drank random flavoured sodas, my favourite being Pepsi with a shot of raspberry yum! We also visited a round barn and the route 66 museum. We then moved on to Texas, now I'm sure I would of given this place more time if it wasn't for the storms, we had planned on camping but as soon as we crossed the state line the clouds went black, and it was black to land level, no inbetween, it was pretty scary! I got out my trusty google on my phone and there were weather warnings for near where we were so we scrapped the camping and got a motel for the night. We stayed at the big Texas motel which has a restaurant next to it when has the free 72 oz steak dinner if you can eat it all. Obviously we didn't attempt this but both munched our way through 18oz steaks whilst cowboys played their instruments for us. Our motel room was cowboy influenced, I loved it! It had fringe on the duvet and pillows and saloon doors through to the bathroom. Oh I also forgot to mention that the big Texas restaurant has some mean fudge. We bought quite a bit with my favourite being the peanut butter, I don't even like peanut butter!
After Texas is New Mexico where we currently are now, nm is beautiful every where you look there are mountains and canyons of various different colours, it's a view that i would never get used to. On our first couple of nights we stayed in Santa Rosa, then we moved on to Santa Fe followed by where we are now in Gallup, we did have a couple more stops planned but there was nothing to stay for so we moved along. I like Gallup, we are staying in a little log cabin but we will be moving on tomorrow, people aren't as friendly here but they are still friendlier than England. Oh I forgot to mention we also went to a museum just outside of Albuquerque, nm called Tinkertown, it was so cool! A man had carved so many wooden characters and set them up in various places like saloons or the circus, he is very talented. We also got our fortunes read by esmerellda.. Even though she's a machine I hope mine comes true as it mentioned lots of money ha!

Tomorrow we move on to Arizona, yay! So long New Mexico.
