D.I.Y Travel journal

What you will need:
Old book pages
Book rings
Hole punch
Scissors
Cardboard
Envelopes

Since we have been planning our trip away I have wanted to make a D.I.Y travel journal to keep all of our ticket stubs and other bits and pieces from our trip. Whenever I go away I always seem to bring back ticket stubs, plane tickets, leaflets...anything I can really get my hands on and they end up getting shoved in a drawer.

As this is such a long trip and an important one for my husband and I, I couldn't bare to chuck everything into a drawer and forget about it this time. I looked on youtube for various DIY's on how to make them and they all seemed quite complicated so I decided to make my own version.

Firstly I collected annuals and old books from charity shops that included images and writing of places that we are visiting etc etc. I tried to get my hands on a camping annual but surprisingly they all were too expensive.

Next I decided on the size of paper that I wanted and cut it down with a guillotine, obviously you can do this with scissors, the guillotine just makes the job quicker and the cut straight. I purchased a hole punch from a stationers. I decided on a single one as I thought it would be easier for what I was wanting to do.

I punched 3 holes and attached the book rings through all the punched papers. I also cut two thicker pages for the front and back cover of the journal. I added an envelope in to the journal so that I could keep together bits I have collected until I stick it in the journal.

I also have a polaroid pogo printer which will be coming on the trip with us and I will be printing off mini photos to stick in the journal. Like me, if you want it to look pretty you can buy some funky tape to stick things in with and bright coloured pens.
